Agent Builder is a no-code and low-code platform for building AI solutions. It supports the creation of both conversational agents and headless, API-driven agents.

Agent Builder can be used to build customer-facing chatbots as well as agents that operate through APIs to support backend operations. It is designed to support a range of use cases across different application contexts.

Important: The Agent Builder is not enabled by default. To enable this feature, contact your account manager.

Core Capabilities

The following sections describe the core capabilities provided by Agent Builder.

Agent Types

Agent Builder supports different types of agents, including conversational agents and headless, API-driven agents.

  • Conversational Agents
Agent Builder supports the creation of conversational agents that interact with users through natural language. A visual interface is provided to design conversation flows, manage responses, and handle context within interactions.

  • Headless (API-Driven) Agents
Agent Builder also supports headless agents that expose AI-driven logic through APIs. These agents can be integrated into existing applications or backend processes and are accessed through API endpoints.

Security and Access Control

Agent Builder includes support for enterprise authentication mechanisms such as single sign-on (SSO) and role-based access controls. These capabilities are intended to protect sensitive data and restrict access based on user roles.

Scalability and Reliability

Agent Builder includes load balancing and high availability capabilities. These features support operation as usage and data volumes increase.

Management and Monitoring

Agent Builder can be administered and monitored centrally alongside other CafeX components

. This provides visibility into agent performance, usage, and resource allocation.

Integration with Enterprise Data

Agent Builder supports integration with enterprise data sources and repositories that are configured within a CafeX-based solution. This allows agents to access data such as customer profiles, transaction records, and product catalogs.

Integration with CafeX Workflows

Agent Builder can be used in combination with CafeX Workflows to coordinate agent interactions with workflows and APIs.

Supported capabilities include:

  • Triggering workflows based on agent interactions
  • Routing tasks and coordinating multiple APIs
  • Adjusting workflows based on incoming data or user input
  • Applying predefined business rules within workflows

Integration with CafeX Rulesets

Agent Builder integrates with CafeX Rulesets to apply business rules and policies to agent behavior.

Supported capabilities include:

  • Centralized definition of business rules
  • Enforcement of compliance-related and organizational policies
  • Updating rules without redeploying agents
  • Using analytics to assess and refine rules over time
