CafeX Virtual Storage Bucket – Amazon AWS

A virtual storage bucket created in AWS and then integrated with CafeX has a similar workflow as the one for Microsoft Azure. However, there are some key points to keep in mind in order to successfully obtain the access key from AWS.

Step 1: Create an Access Policy and User in AWS

  1. Upon successfully logging in to Amazon S3, open the Identity and Access Management section.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Policies.
  3. Doing so opens the Summary screen.
  4. Here, the whole policy summary for a created access policy is displayed in the Permissions tab.

  5. In the Policy permissions, the actions that a user with this access policy can perform are listed under the Actions section.

  6. Make sure that you direct Amazon S3 towards the storage bucket you have created in AWS. This is what enables CafeX to integrate with the storage bucket created in AWS.

Step 2: Copy the User Access Key

  1. For the integration to work in a smooth manner, it is recommended to create a specific user for CafeX in AWS.
  2. To create a user, click the Users tab from the left-hand menu.

  3. Once the user is created, click the Security Credentials tab.

Step 3: Link the Created Storage Bucket with CafeX

CafeX > Three-Dot Icon > Tenant Settings > Data Storage

  1. Follow the above-mentioned workflow to land on the Data Storage screen.
  2. Here, select AWS from the Type dropdown.
  3. Paste the Access key ID displayed in Create Access Key popup in the Access Key field.
  4. Similarly, paste the Secret access key from AWS in the Security key field.
  5. Enter the name of the storage bucket you created in AWS using the Bucket Name field.
  6. Enter the name of the region using the Region field.

  7. Once all the fields are filled, click the Update button.
  8. This displays a confirmation box notifying you that confirming this action will move all the assets created in CafeX to the AWS storage account.
  9. To confirm the action, click the Confirm button.

  10. This integrates CafeX with the virtual storage bucket created in Amazon AWS. You can test the integration the same way as explained for Azure.
