As a tenant’s administrator you can do the following:
- Review the members within your tenant.
- Invite and provision people to become a member of your CafeX tenant.
- Manage an authentication provider for your tenant.
- Manage your member’s profiles.
- Manage the applications your members have access to.
- Manage the workspaces your members create.
Inviting people to your CafeX tenant
As an administrator you can provision people in the following ways:
- Invite them to your tenant.
- Configure SCIM to work alongside your identity provider.
Inviting people to your tenant
To invite people to your CafeX tenant:
- Open your profile the menu > Tenant settings.
- Click Management > Users.
- Click Add.
- Enter the email addresses of the people to invite to CafeX.
- Before you continue, CafeX validates the email addresses you provide.
- Click Invite.
CafeX sends an email to the addresses you provide that invites them to sign up for CafeX.
If they accept the invitation, they are then active members of your tenant.
Provisioning people with SCIM
System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) is a standard for transferring identity information between a domain and CafeX, automatically—see: Setting up SCIM.
CafeX role types
Members of your organization that you provision to use CafeX have one of the following roles:
Role | Description |
---|---|
ADMIN | Administrators manages the CafeX account for their organization. |
STANDARD | Members of your organization that use CafeX. |
PENDING | CafeX has sent an invitation to sign up and use CafeX and they still have to accept it. When they complete sign up, CafeX allocates the STANDARD role. |
OWNER | CafeX does not use this role. CafeX reserves this role for future use. |
DEACTIVATED | The person can no longer sign in, or use CafeX. |
PENDING_DEACTIVATED | The person did not complete sign up, and cannot sign in to CafeX. |
Making someone an administrator
To make someone in your organization an administrator:
- Open your profile the menu > Tenant settings.
- Click Management > Users.
- Select their identity.
- Click make admin.
Deactivating someone in your CafeX tenant
As a tenant’s administrator, you can deactivate members of your tenant.
To deactivate someone:
- Open your profile the menu > Tenant settings.
- Click Management > Users.
- Click Deactivate.
When you deactivate someone, they can not:
- Sign in to use CafeX.
- Reset their password.
Reactivating someone in your CafeX tenant
As a tenant’s administrator, you can reactivate a member of your tenancy who is deactivated.
To reactivate someone:
- Open your profile the menu > Tenant settings.
- Click Management > Users.
- Click Reactivate.
Managing your authentication provider for CafeX
As an administrator you can configure an alternative authentication provider for your organization by using SAML. Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a standard for managing authentication and authorization between parties identity providers and service providers. See: Setting up SAML.
