High level architecture
Challo is a highly available cloud service that provides secure collaboration workspaces.
For an introduction to Challo and its features, see:
Challo has integrations for several applications to provide your members with access to features. The following types of integration are available in Challo:
Authentication You manage your organization’s members and can invite other people to your tenancy. Challo provides an authentication service; in addition, you can use Google, Microsoft, or Apple single sign-on services (SSO), to log into Challo. See also: Challo security datasheet—Authentication Security Cloud storage
Challo uses cloud storage to store documents, recordings, and other content.
When at rest, all of the data that Challo stores resides in a cloud storage account using AES 256 with a specific key for your tenant to segregate your data.
If you have security, compliance, or policy reasons, and do not want this data to reside in the Challo infrastructure, you can
Bring Your Own Storage. If you configure it, Challo can then use your cloud storage account to store and access data, such as an AWS bucket or an Azure Blob. This gives you the control to configure any additional requirements you have.
Challo does maintain metadata about what is held in your data store, so that it can perform some tasks. For a complete set of data and metadata, see:
Setting up Challo - Setup your datastore.

With “Bring your own storage” it is important to note that Challo does not copy any of the underlying data into its infrastructure.
Assistant integration Your organization can designate one of your mailboxes for Challo to connect to operate as a Challo assistant. Challo stores emails on tracks; on the cloud storage you configure. Collaboration integration Challo provides many integrations to different applications so that your track members can share and access content while using Challo. Your Organization’s administrator installs, configures and manages the integrations that are available to their members as you require. Integrations allow you to reference data in your corporate applications from within a Challo track. Challo does not copy any of the underlying data into its infrastructure, instead maintaining metadata to access it as necessary. Collaboration integrations are available in the following ways: Across your organization—For example, providing access to documents in your organization’s file storage account. For individuals to manage—For example, someone in your organization can provide access to documents from their own file storage account.
It’s important to note that Challo does not copy any of the underlying data into its infrastructure.
The following diagram provides an overview of available Challo integrations. The diagram expands the collaboration integrations and provides examples of applications Challo integrates with:
In the diagram, integrations on the
configuration lines apply to your organization; they control how Challo interacts with your organization.
Integrations on the
collaboration lines can apply to your organization too; and in addition, they can allow individuals to manage their own integrations with Challo.
Cloud suite lines include applications that cloud office suites provide that Challo can integrate with. Further reading
